As WWE gears up for a new era in India with all programming moving to Netflix on April 1st, WWE President Nick Khan has sparked excitement among Indian fans by hinting at the possibility of a premium live event (PLE) in the country.
Speaking to The Hindustan Times, Khan emphasized WWE’s commitment to India, revealing that plans for a PLE in the region are already in the works.
“That’s the goal, and we’re mapping out potential dates for 2026 and 2027,” Khan stated. “During one of our initial discussions with Netflix after finalizing the deal, they provided us with a list of key markets they are focusing on—India topped that list. With the transition of WWE programming to Netflix in India from April 1, it is evident that India holds major significance for them, and if it’s important to Netflix, it’s just as crucial for us. India has always been a priority for WWE, and we are actively exploring possibilities. Let’s see how things unfold.”
This potential PLE would mark a significant return for WWE in India, a market with a passionate fanbase and deep-rooted wrestling culture. The last major WWE event in the country was Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad in 2023, which was later aired on Sony Sports Network, WWE’s previous broadcast partner. Before that, WWE had not toured India since 2017.
With WWE’s expansion into streaming via Netflix, Indian fans can expect an enhanced viewing experience, potentially leading to more live events in the region. While an official announcement is yet to be made, the prospect of a PLE in India by 2026 or 2027 is an exciting development for fans eager to witness WWE’s biggest stars live in action.
