With 2025 marking the end of Mariah May’s current AEW contract, speculation is heating up around the future of “The Glamour.” Recent reports suggest that May could be preparing to say goodbye to All Elite Wrestling—and hello to WWE.
It comes as no surprise that both promotions are interested in the talented English wrestler. AEW is said to be eager to retain her, while WWE is reportedly keen on bringing her into the fold. Now, fresh updates seem to indicate that May may indeed be heading toward WWE once her deal wraps up.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez revealed that conversations with people inside WWE suggest the company is confident about signing Mariah. According to them, WWE “knows” she’s interested in making the switch. Meanwhile, sources within AEW believe that her exit is likely, with May eyeing the next big chapter in her career.
Alvarez also pointed out that Mariah signed a two-year deal with AEW back in 2023, which is expected to expire in the summer of 2025. Adding fuel to the rumors, Mariah recently shared a cryptic Instagram story featuring an airplane window and the caption: “You can’t make the wrong decision because every decision leads you to where you’re supposed to be.” That post sparked immediate buzz among fans and insiders alike.
If May does join WWE, it would be a significant signing for the company and a notable loss for AEW. Her 174-day reign as AEW Women’s World Champion solidified her as one of the top female talents in the promotion. Known for her polished in-ring skills and standout character work, Mariah’s feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm became a highlight of the women’s division. After dropping the title back to Storm at Grand Slam Australia in February, May challenged for the belt again at Revolution, but has not appeared on AEW programming since their trilogy concluded.
